How is it applied?
Example for facial use:
Pre-treatment: Wash face and apply Epiderm moisturising balm to slightly wet skin.
Step 1: Once the moisturizer is applied, dip finger into pot and apply a small amount to area to be treated.
Start with forehead. With ring finger from one or each hand apply light pressure only and work into skin moving from side to side with a small circular motion.
Continue between 2 and 5 minutes until the skin becomes dry and the crystals mixed with old flakes of skin come free.
When you are satisfied all flake is removed, move on to other areas of the face, i.e. cheeks, nose and chin, leaving the eyes till last. As this product has no chemicals you can massage into eyelids and skin immediately around the eyes.
Step 2: When the treatment is finished wash off with water, dry skin and again apply one light finger dip of moisturizing balm to the area of treated skin.
As long as eyes are kept closed during treatment, no crystals should find their way into the eyes but if this happens wash out with plenty of water.

What is a Corundum Crystal?
True corundum crystals are a product of nature. In their purest form they are clear. When they contain chromium they are called rubies they are also sapphires!!! The generic name is AL2O3, or aluminum oxide. Only the diamond has a harder Mohs scale rating. When properly mined and prepared, corundum crystal is inert due to a fusion process. Thus, it is stable and unable to react with water, heat, oxidizing agents or surfactants. This process allows the crystal to retain its unique hexagonal crystalline structure (clearly seen upon electron microscopy). According to Richard Wachsman, a MIT physicist, all crystals contain inclusions or tiny pockets, which then contain molecules of water. As the compound is massaged into moist skin these molecules vibrate and create a magnetic state, thus flattening wrinkles. One of the many reasons for the crystal's high impact on the skin.Microdermabrasion always uses the "corundum crystal. Real corundum crystal is hollow and absorbs dead skin cells. On a clean, moist face apply about a 5c coin size amount of the cream and with the fingers lightly massage it into the skin, for delicate areas use your ring finger. If you have an area where you tend to break out, have blackheads, scars, lines or pigment changes, you may work those areas alone longer. There should be a difference in the clarity, tone and texture of your skin. If you are using the cream as a treatment, massage it in for 2-5 minutes in a circular manner. As the cream base is absorbed the crystals will appear to sit on top of your skin. Keep massaging - this is the actual microdermabrasion process. The crystals, and your dead skin cells will begin to "ball up. Some people have a heavy build up this process will take a few treatments to begin to occur. You may also use it nightly as a light exfoliant scrub after applying the balm (not water) for 15-20 seconds ONLY in combination with twice or three times a week treatment.
